When one accept that there are things one cannot control the self awareness is switched on. Feeling overwhelmed, just take a moment and breathe. Follow a deep inhalation thru the nose, hold for 5 seconds and let it go, breathing out for 7 seconds. Repeat the process 10 times and experience the calmness that return to the body. Using self affirmations during the process further enhances the exercise. I am calm and in control of my emotions. My calmness shows as an example to others. I am happy and I am healthy.
